TRAVEL DOCUMENTATION, VISAS & OTHER IMPORTANT INFORMATION

1. Travel Documentation

All international participants must have:

A valid passport, with a recommended minimum validity of three (3) months from the date of travel;
A valid Brazilian visa, where applicable;
Hotel accommodation confirmation;
Round-trip airline ticket;
International travel insurance (strongly recommended);
International Certificate of Vaccination, where required by the relevant authorities.

2. Responsibility for Visas and Entry into Brazil

Obtaining a Brazilian visa and authorization to enter Brazil are the sole responsibility of each participant and are subject to the laws, regulations, and sovereign decisions of the Brazilian consular and immigration authorities.

EXPO ÁFRICA BRASIL is not responsible for:

Visa approvals or refusals;
Consular processing times;
Immigration procedures;
Boarding denials or refusal of entry into Brazil;
Any costs related to travel documentation or transportation.

3. Institutional Support from EXPO ÁFRICA BRASIL

To support and facilitate institutional procedures, the EXPO ÁFRICA BRASIL Organizing Committee will:

Submit the official list of confirmed participants and delegations to Brazil's Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Itamaraty);
Request institutional support and consular facilitation from Brazilian Embassies and Consulates in the respective African countries;
Share official participant information with the Embassies of participating countries in Brazil for diplomatic and institutional follow-up;
Issue official invitation letters to duly registered and confirmed participants whenever applicable.

4. Important Recommendations

Participants are strongly advised to:

Begin the visa application process at least 45 to 60 days before their planned departure;
Check directly with the Brazilian Embassy or Consulate in their country regarding visa requirements and application procedures;
Regularly monitor official consular communications;
Keep both digital and printed copies of all travel documents;
Comply with all health, customs, and immigration regulations in force during the travel period.

5. Official Information

Official Language

The official language of EXPO ÁFRICA BRASIL is Portuguese, with simultaneous interpretation provided in English, French, and Spanish during the main conference sessions.

Delegations requiring dedicated interpreters for business meetings or institutional activities should indicate this request in the registration form.

Currency

The official currency of Brazil is the Brazilian Real (BRL).

Participants are advised to bring US Dollars (USD) or Euros (EUR) for currency exchange if necessary. International credit and debit cards, including Visa, are widely accepted throughout Brazil; however, participants are encouraged to confirm international usage with their banking institution prior to travel.

Weather in São Paulo

During the period of EXPO ÁFRICA BRASIL, São Paulo experiences summer weather, with average temperatures ranging from 20°C to 30°C (68°F to 86°F).

Participants are advised to wear light clothing during the day and bring a light jacket for air-conditioned venues and cooler evenings. Short periods of rainfall are common during this season; therefore, carrying a compact umbrella or lightweight raincoat is recommended.

Internet & Mobile Connectivity

Brazil offers extensive mobile network coverage and Wi-Fi access in hotels, airports, shopping centers, and event venues.

International visitors may purchase local SIM cards or activate eSIM services from major Brazilian mobile operators at airports, shopping malls, or authorized retail stores upon presentation of a valid passport.

Safety & Personal Security

The EXPO ÁFRICA BRASIL Organizing Committee will provide guidance on recommended transportation options, safe routes, and practical travel advice throughout participants' stay.

Executive Transportation

EXPO ÁFRICA BRASIL will provide recommendations for executive transportation services and officially recognized mobility applications to facilitate transfers between airports, partner hotels, and event venues.

Transportation support may also be arranged for official delegations, institutional guests, speakers, and strategic partners, subject to confirmation of arrival schedules and operational availability.

Logistics for Exhibition Products and Promotional Materials

Participants may travel with products intended for exhibition, institutional presentations, demonstrations, or promotional purposes during EXPO ÁFRICA BRASIL, provided they comply with all applicable Brazilian customs, sanitary, and transportation regulations.

Companies and delegations intending to bring exhibition products, samples, promotional materials, or display equipment must indicate this requirement in the registration form, specifying the type of material, estimated quantity, and intended purpose.

The EXPO ÁFRICA BRASIL Organizing Committee may provide general guidance regarding logistics procedures, recommended documentation, and best practices for the temporary importation of exhibition materials into Brazil, where applicable.

However, responsibility for transportation, customs clearance, import authorizations, regulatory compliance, insurance, and all related costs remains solely with the participant or exhibiting organization.

Recommended Arrival Dates

To maximize business opportunities, networking activities, and full participation in the official program of EXPO ÁFRICA BRASIL 2026—including the activities scheduled during EXPO Week and the main event—we strongly recommend that international participants and official delegations arrive in Brazil between 27 and 28 November 2026.

Arriving in advance will allow participants to complete logistical arrangements, adapt comfortably before the event, and take full advantage of executive experiences, institutional meetings, business forums, technical visits, and B2B matchmaking sessions scheduled throughout EXPO Week.
